Developing the Mind of Christ in the Leaders of Tomorrow

First Baptist Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church of SW Broward. This institution is owned and operated by FBC of SW Broward under the leadership of Pastor Tom Odom. First Baptist Academy firmly believes and teaches without apology, all principles and doctrines found in FBC of SW Broward’s Statement of Faith, which embraces the biblical, Baptist belief.
Because we believe in the importance of the Word of God influencing the lives of our students, the use of the Bible and its principles are incorporated into each subject. the Bible is used as a basis for knowledge and as a guide for further growth and strength.

A Foundation for Life

  • First Baptist Academy is truly a family where education is important and Christ is paramount. At FBA, I was enabled to cultivate meaningful relationships with friends and a deeper connection with my Savior. Which I have truly seen bless me and those around me. Thank you FBA!

    - Joseph Brown, FBA Class of 2021

  • I will always be thankful to First Baptist Academy; not only for the clear and effective Bible teaching, but also for the excellent education brought from a biblical worldview by teachers who prepared me for success not only in the classroom, but in life as well. The influence FBA had on me is indispensable, and my time there will be a spiritual landmark that I look back on for the rest of my life.

    - Paul Dunn, graduate of FBA Class 2025

  • My time at FBA was wonderful, I attended the school for 5 years and also graduated as well! Being at FBA was like having a family away from home. The Staff and Administration are absolutely amazing, their mission is not just to run the school but to get to know you in every way they can and be involved in your life as a student! They teach all the basic classes you need as a student, but most importantly they emphasize and helping you build your relation with the Lord. I will always appreciate and cherish the time I spent at FBA!

    - Jary Cerrato, FBA Class of 2025

  • My experience at FBA was a great and meaningful part of my life! The teachers were very involved and truly cared about us, not just academically but personally too. The curriculum challenged me in the best way and really helped me grow closer in my relationship with Christ. I always felt encouraged to grow in my faith and become a better version of myself. I also loved being part of the basketball team because the coaches were very supportive and motivating. They really pushed me while still making it fun. The environment overall was very positive and uplifting. Looking back, FBA had a huge impact on who I am today!

    - Isabella Roberti, FBA Class of 2024

  • I am so thankful for the years God used First Baptist Academy in my life. It’s academic, spiritual, and practical training was exactly what I needed for the ministry God has called me to today. I am proud to be an FBA Lion!

Caleb Williamson, FBA Class of 2021

  • My time at FBA prepared me not only in practical ways, but also spiritually, equipping me to live effectively for the glory of God. Every staff member invested deeply in my life and played a significant role in shaping who I am today. I attended FBA for five years, and throughout those years, God worked in my life in unforgettable ways. From helping assure my salvation to encouraging me to use my talents for Christ, FBA provided countless opportunities for spiritual and personal growth. I highly recommend FBA to any parent who wants their child to learn about the love of Jesus while also receiving strong practical instruction for life. In addition to its spiritual impact, the academics at FBA are phenomenal.

Amanda Delgado, FBA Class of 2023

  • One of the things I value most about First Baptist Academy is that the Bible isn’t limited to Bible class, it is woven into everyday learning. My teachers did an incredible job of connecting a biblical worldview to every subject while also genuinely caring about our hearts. That care didn’t stop when I graduated. Even while I was away at college, former teachers would reach out to check on me and remind me that they were praying for me. Some of my best memories were made through sports, school trips, and everyday moments that made FBA feel like family.

    - Victoria Odom, FBA class of 2022

  • I graduated from First Baptist Academy in 2019, and now I’m blessed with the opportunity to come back and serve here, which means a lot because FBA was such a huge part of my life growing up.
One thing I love about FBA is that God is the main priority, and the teachers and staff genuinely care about their students and their walk with God.
Being part of First Baptist Church also gives a strong connection between the church, the school, and the students.
I think the closed enrollment makes FBA special because it gives Christian families a place where students can grow in their faith and be surrounded by people who care about the same things.
When I was a student, another student and I started a student-led prayer group, and it’s really cool to see it continue today and know that what we started is still making an impact.
I’m thankful for the people who invested in me when I was here, and now I get to come back and do the same for other students and invest in the next generation.

Alexander Leon, FBA Class of 2019
