DEVELOPING THE MIND OF CHRIST
First Baptist Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church of SW Broward. This institution is owned and operated by FBC of SW Broward under the leadership of Pastor Tom Odom. First Baptist Academy firmly believes and teaches without apology, all principles and doctrines found in FBC of SW Broward’s Statement of Faith, which embraces the biblical, Baptist belief.
With these beliefs in mind, First Baptist Academy believes that the Bible is the infallible, plenary, inspired Word of God and is the final authority of faith and practice; therefore, First Baptist Academy practices the exclusive use of the King James Bible in classroom instruction, Bible memory, and chapel services. Because we believe in the importance of the Word of God influencing the lives of our
students, the use of the Bible and its principles are incorporated into each subject. the Bible is used as a basis for knowledge and as a guide for further growth and strength.

Thus, because of our beliefs concerning the Bible and its principles, a chapel service is held every week for all grades. All FBA teachers and students are required to participate fully in all services and functions of chapel.
PHILOSOPHY
Colossians 1:18 says, “…that in all things He (Jesus) might have the preeminence.” The purpose of First Baptist Academy is not to offer an alternative to the government school system nor to provide only a private education. Rather, it is to provide an atmosphere to grow and a solid Christian education that is based upon the Bible. FBA is not a corrective institution, but a safe haven for today’s children and youth. This is accomplished by allowing Jesus Christ to have the preeminence in the lives of all those who have a part in this ministry. Our goal is to develop the mind of Christ in our students so that they may serve Jesus Christ from their hearts.

Q & A
Q: How can parents check their student’s grades?
A: Parents can go online and check their student’s grades anytime they want to with ParentWeb. ParentWeb offers our parents the ability to see their student’s grades, behavioral marks, assignments, and upcoming tests/quizzes. When a parent applies to FBA, they will be able to create their ParentWeb account which will be used during a child’s stay in FBA.
Note: Online Enrollment is on Parentweb. There is a ParentWeb App that you can download and pay an annual $5 subscription fee for ease of access through your smart phones. However, ParentWeb is also accessible through a browser.
Q: What is the curriculum used in FBA?
A: Kindergarten through 12th grade classes receive training from the Abeka curriculum. All subjects are taught from a Christ-centered world view. Daily Bible training is designed to enhance your child’s spiritual development while providing an opportunity for your child to know the complete truth in all subjects. Curriculum for each grade is organized and developed so that your child will receive superior training in all subjects.
Q: What’s FBA’s sports program like?
A: Our school offers elementary to varsity athletics. Each FBA student from 3rd grade to 12th grade is greatly encouraged to participate in our sports program. Students will be eligible to participate in athletics by maintaining good academics and a strong Christian testimony. In the fall, girls can play volleyball while the boys flag football. In the winter months, we participate in a basketball league. In November to December, elementary and middle school boys soccer is in session. From January to February, elementary and middle school girls may participate in soccer.
Q: Who is FBA's registrar?
